Where are you located?
I'm based in San Elijo Hills, San Marcos, California. I serve North San Diego County including Carlsbad, San Marcos, Encinitas, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Del Mar, Vista, Escondido, Valley Center, Oceanside, Poway, Rancho Bernardo, Penasquitos and all of San Diego County for weddings and special events.
Do you travel?
Not really. I have 9 kids and lots of them are little. They kind of need me around! But if you're traveling here, I'd love to capture your vacation! Destination sessions at the beach are so fun!
How long have you been in business?
I've been photographing other families since 2006 and became official in 2013 once I had some babysitters to help out.
Where can I find your most recent work?
I built a new website spring 2019 (yay!) and am still moving around galleries and updating blog posts. Many recent sessions have a highlight gallery post in the featured galleries section and I'm working on updating the blog. I don't post much to social media myself, but I love providing beautiful images for my awesome clients to use!
Did you study photography?
I dabbled in many majors from Aerospace Engineering, to Chemical Physics and finally graduated with my B.S. is in Applied Math and Physics. I studied optics and lenses but honestly, managing the camera gear is pretty easy compared to managing the energy and mood of families! That experience probably came from being a mom in the midst of noise and chaos of my own for the past 20 years!
What equipment do you use?
I love my Nikon and Sigma gear! I use mainly my Nikon d810s with my Sigma art 50mm for family sessions, and my Nikkor 85mm for seniors and subjects who don't move around as quickly. I have lots of other lenses too that I use occasionally, but those are my favorites at the moment.

What if I don't see the date or time that I need?
Contact Christy to chat about availability. A little bit of schedule juggling may open up the date and time you need.
Do you offer morning sessions?
YES! I love morning sessions, especially beach sunrise sessions! These times don't show on the app to cut down on confusion, but contact Christy to set up a morning session.
What's the scheduling window?
To keep rescheduling at a minimum, we book family and senior sessions 60 days out and smaller sessions 3 weeks out.
If you're ready to set up a session right away (within 48 hours) contact Christy to check for availability (because even if it's available, it won't show up on the scheduling app).
What if I need to reschedule?
You may reschedule your session up until 2 weeks before at no charge for any reason. You may reschedule anytime due to illness or issues with weather at no charge.
What if I need to cancel my session or reschedule last minute?
Your retainer fee may be charged for cancellations and last minute rescheduling (other than illness and weather). Contact Christy as soon as possible once you know that a date won't work for you.
How do I get coupon codes?
Sign up for the newsletter for the latest coupon codes! Coupon codes are not valid for weddings and events.
Do I need to pick a location before scheduling?
No, but a few locations will impact the best dates and times for our session and we can always fine tune the session time to work best with the location. After scheduling, you'll receive the links for planning your session including all my favorite locations.
BEACH SESSIONS & TIDES - For Oceanside Pier (if you want shots under the pier) or Cardiff (if you want shots on the reef), we'll want a date/time that coincides with low tide.
LEO CARRILLO - Closes at 5 so we would most likely adjust the session time for that day to be 4:00 PM (or 3:45). Also not open on Mondays. See Christy if interested in the Leo Carrillo location to make sure we find the best date/time for you.
Can I pick a location a little further away?
There is an option to upgrade your location when scheduling but we need to make sure it will work with our date and time and my family's schedule. Contact us for options.
How do I pay for my session?
Your secure payment options available when you schedule...
- Pay the full session fee at time of scheduling via credit card.
- Pay only the Retainer Fee up front, keep your credit card info on file and authorize the balance to be charged on session day.
- Pay Retainer Fee up front and the balance with check or cash. To do this, just pay retainer fee via credit card and write a note in the comments specifying cash or check.
- If you'd like to pay for the entire session with cash or check, contact us before scheduling.
